司马迁的《史记》有力地刻划了人物形象,它与以前的历史著作《尚书》、《春秋》不同,与《左传》、《国语》电不同,把人物提到了在历史发展过程中应有的地位上来,表现了人的历史主动性。这是对“天命神授”观点的突破以至否定,是中国哲学史上一个质的跃进。本文接着就项羽、刘邦以及韩信、李斯等人物形象,具体探讨了司马迁刻划人物的方法,指出这种方法作为成功的文学经验,已成为我国民族艺术传统宝库中的一个重要部分。最后强调指出:司马迁以毕生的心血乃至生命殉了他的事业。学习为文,要学习为人。
