课程设置是由课程目标、内容、实施和评价组成的动态系统。对学习者需求进行分析可以为制定合理的课程设置提供重要的依据。本文通过对中南大学非英语专业硕士研究生的问卷调查,对学术英语课程设置进行了需求分析。调查发现,绝大部分研究生都认为有必要在研究生阶段开设英语课程,学生对通用学术英语的需求最高,需求主要体现在用英语阅读本专业的文献和文章,其次为用英文写摘要、实验报告和小论文,做口头陈述和参加学术讨论,以及听英文讲座或讲课。学术词汇量是他们在学术英语学习中遇到的主要困难。文章从课程内容设置、授课方式和手段及教师自身修养等多方面对非英语专业硕士研究生学术英语课程设置进行了探讨。
Curriculum is a dynamic system of course objectives, content, implementation and evaluation. An analysis of learner needs can provide an important basis for setting a reasonable curriculum. Based on the questionnaire survey of postgraduates of non-English majors in Central South University, this paper analyzes the needs of academic English curriculum. The survey found that most postgraduates think it is necessary to open an English course at the postgraduate level. Students have the highest demand for common academic English. The major needs are mainly reading the articles and articles in English, followed by the abstracts in English, the experimental report And essay, make oral presentations and participate in academic discussions, as well as listening to English lectures or lectures. Academic vocabulary is their major difficulty in academic English learning. This article discusses the setting of academic English courses for non-English majors from the aspects of course content setting, teaching methods and means and teachers’ self-cultivation.
