Objective To explore the changing characteristics of the hemorrheology of elder men in croquet. Methods A series of hemorheological indexes of 36 elder golfers were determined by LBY-N6C automatic hemorheology instrument and the correlation was analyzed. Results Compared with the indexes of hemorheology before exercise, the aged elite gateball athletes showed no significant difference in the indexes of hemorheology (high shear viscosity of whole blood, low shear viscosity of whole blood, hematocrit, erythrocyte deformability index (P <0.05 or P <0.01). There was a significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05 or P <0.01). Conclusions The goalkeeper movement has a good improvement on the hemorheology of the elderly, indicating that participation in physical exercise can improve the blood circulation of the elderly and reduce the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular ischemic diseases.
