用咖啡因或咖啡因与γ射线复合处理大麦种子,研究咖啡因对大麦辐射效应的影响及其作用机制,从而找出辐射育种中正确应用咖啡因的技术方法。研究结果表明,咖啡因作辐照前处理或辐照后处理均可增加辐射损伤;前处理的辐射损伤此后处理更严重,均随咖啡因溶液浓度的增加而增加;在γ射线和咖啡因的复合处理中,咖啡因溶液浓度在1.164mg/ml以下,作用机制是抑制辐射损伤的修复,当浓度达到1.164mg/ml时,咖啡因效应包括抑制辐射损伤修复和本身引起的诱变作用。在辐射育种工作中,咖啡因浓度以1mg/ml为宜。
