老年人的养生以养心为先。古籍《灵枢》中说:“心者,五脏六腑之大主也,精神之所舍也。”“主明则下安,以此养生则寿,殁世不殆。”这说明,人的精神健康是肉体健康的主导因素。照现代人的观点,人的高级神经系统是调节人体内外环境使之保持相对平衡的司令部,倘若这个司令部的调节功能失常,则肌体的防病和自疗功能减弱,因而百病乘虚而入。 然而,老年人如何养心呢?仁者见仁,智者见智,尚无定论。笔者认为,弃其烦琐,撮其纲要,老年人养心之道以“存志、怡情、乐学、导气、节欲”这十字诀为妥。
