在建设合格初中的过程中,我们常熟市张桥初中不断端正办学的指导思想,逐步从“升学教育”模式转向“素质教育”,调整教育结构,发展职业技术教育,使学校教育逐步形成为地方经济服务的机制。我们在调查学生思想动态和了解乡办企业发展需求的基础上,在初三年级学生中搞分流试验。1988年秋,我校与张桥袜厂和鞋桥服装厂联合开办了机织和缝纫初级职业班,由学生和家长提出申请,经学校和联办单位审核,有53名初二升初三的学生进入分流班。分流班半天上课,学习政治、语文、数学、体育等文化课和缝纫、裁剪、缝纫机修理、机
