Objective To analyze the correlation between the level of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in peripheral blood and the degree of vascular lesions in patients with acute coronary syndromes. Methods Sixty elderly coronary heart disease patients were randomly divided into unstable angina group and myocardial infarction group, 30 cases each. Another 30 elderly patients without coronary heart disease as a control group. The levels of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in three groups were compared. Results The levels of BNP in acute myocardial infarction group were (508.20 ± 29.11) fmol / ml higher than those in unstable angina group (304.83 ± 50.45) fmol / ml and higher than those in normal control group (49.33 ± 15.25 fmol / ml) There was statistical significance (P <0.01). Conclusions show that the level of BNP and coronary artery disease was positively correlated.
