Objective To understand the recent effect of peer education on health education of AIDS prevention and STD in high school and to provide reference experience for AIDS health education. Methods The second-year students in 9 high schools in Beihai were selected as the intervention subjects. Each school was randomly divided into experimental group and internal control group by class, and the second-year students from 3 high schools in Beihai were selected as external control group. In the experimental group, “peer education” was implemented, while the other two groups did not conduct any organized health education on HIV / AIDS STD prevention. Using self-designed questionnaire, students in each group were investigated before and after the intervention, compared and analyzed the recent effect of peer education. Results Compared with the control group (from 24.66 points to 25.75 points) and the control group (from 22.90 points to 23.54 points), the scores of AIDS STDs increased from 24.33 to 30.78 (P <0.05) Minute). Conclusions Peer education has a good short-term effect on health education of AIDS-related STD among high school students.
