[Abstract] Now elementary school English education has placed a very important role in China. Contemporary primary education is quality education and education for all the students. Therefore, how to help students learn English and to increase interest in learning English in the classroom, etc. are very difficult for educators. Interest is the best teacher and the entry guide. This paper will discuss increase interest in learning English in primary schools teaching strategies.

How to implement the goals of teaching, optimize teaching process, promote quality education, avoid the boring situation between teachers and students due to lack of communication, on primary school teaching of English, I think the best approach is to strengthen interaction between teachers and students. Interest is the best teacher, especially for primary school students, interest is the inherent and indispensable power. English curriculum standards in the basic concepts article III mention that outstanding students subjectivity, respect for the individual differences. The all-round development of students and subjective improvement is the teaching basis and the goal to achieve. If educators neglect the development of students’ subjectivity, education and teaching will lose support and vitality. The improvement of students study interest and subjectivity is very helpful to enhance classroom teaching effect. In my opinion, educators can increase students’ interest by the following ways.
Ⅰ、Small class teaching is helpful to the classroom teaching, is the beginning of success.
Good class model is advantageous to the classroom activities and good guarantee of teaching order. Previous teaching is mostly based on large classes. Although this form has some advantages, large classes can not adapt to the modern classroom teaching with the increasing requirements of teaching. Small class teaching is more suitable for primary school English teaching, especially for classroom activities. It has many advantages, for example, easier for teachers to organize students, high participation rates, easy to maintain classroom discipline and so on. If the teachers conduct a class discussion, they can also have a discussion in groups so as to arouse students’ learning enthusiasm.
Ⅱ、Use of advanced multimedia teaching to attract the attention of students, to stimulate the curiosity of students.
In classroom teaching, we can use multimedia, such as PPT, projector, whiteboard, etc. so that the teacher can make the textbook vividly move up, make the image up and audible. Also they can make a living textbook shake the hearts of students, develop the intellect of students, and raises innovation ability of students. The curiosity of students is often very strong, they are very sensitive to sound, colorful pictures and other interesting things. These things will attract their attention very well. For example, if teachers teach the word “Cat” in the classroom, they can play cat photos and sounds in PPT, so that students can feel the vivid image. Whiteboard is an advanced multimedia tool in modern teaching that can assist teachers in the classroom and make the class and the courseware becomes more vividly. With the use of these multimedia tools classroom will become colorful, lively and interesting. In this form of class students are passionate and well-understood. They can master the course content very well, and can imitate teachers to achieve the effect of well learning and using. Ⅲ、To carry out classroom activities, to teach well-designed English games and enable students to participate in them is very helpful to ensure a good teacher-student interaction.
In the class the teachers can arrange some interesting guessing game, and ask students to guess. At the same time students can practice speaking imperceptibly in the process .Do "on the train" game; guide the students in small groups to say the words one by one, so that they can make comparison of who has loud voice and who has the accurate pronunciation. This will not only check the student’s pronunciation timely, at the same time these activities can attract the attention of the students effetely, and make preparations for accepting the new courses better. Games must be interesting, for example, spelling word games, listening to the word and the take a seat according to ticket number, the use of greeting to find a friend, whisper messenger, listening to the command and to do the movements, guess riddles and so on. All these games can fully mobilize students’ learning enthusiasm and initiative. Primary school English teaching can improve students’ learning interest.
Ⅳ、Applying appropriate facial language and body language on English classroom also will enhance the teaching effect.
The famous writer Roman Rolland said that the facial expression is a successful language trained for centuries, and it is thousand times more complex than the language from the mouth. Therefore, if the teachers in the classroom can make good use of facial expression language according to the different situation, they can adjust the classroom atmosphere effectively and improve the effect of teaching. In this way students can feel what is wrong or right, where still need to improve and so on. The eyes are the windows of the soul, it can vividly speak, also can express the delicate inner feelings of the teachers. If a teacher has a pair of expressive eyes, the classroom effect will be different. If the teachers use the eyes properly to teach in the classroom, it will be of great help. Gesture in body language changes the quickest and biggest. It has a rich expression force. Therefore, teachers in the classroom should use the gesture concisely, appropriately, naturally, harmoniously, and differently.
Lastly there are many methods to enhance the effect of classroom teaching, and teachers also need more research to achieve the goal. To active the classroom atmosphere a good teacher-student interaction is essential, and the exchange between teachers and students becomes more and harmonious, then the classroom will become harmonious. The best teaching effect can be achieved by fully excavating the content of textbook, mobilizing the curiosity, imagination and enthusiasm of students for learning through the originality of teaching students, establishing a harmonious, democratic, united atmosphere of mutual respect.
