The design of the Arun Brera mine started in June 1995. Concentrate production began in the early third quarter of 1997. The mine is located in northwestern Argentina. The Arum Brela mill is currently being developed by Arum Brera Minerals. The Arun Brera mine is Argentina’s first modern copper mine. This article outlines the features of the main process and plant configuration used in the design of the Arun Brera mill. In addition, it also introduces the process of manufacturing plant and equipment selection. One of the features of this process is the gravity-gated operation in the rough and regrind circuits and the copper concentrate production circuit.
