Since the world economy entered the era of knowledge economy, the importance of human capital to economic growth has become increasingly prominent. Human capital intensive firm (HCIF), with human capital as the key resource, has quietly changed the pattern of the enterprise and has become a very important emerging enterprise. This paper first analyzes the characteristics of HCIF and then compares the differences in characteristics between HCIF and physical capital intensive firms (PCIFs). It is these differences in characteristics that have posed many new problems for business theory that are in urgent need of solution so that many of the issues that have been reached consensus in traditional theory should be rethought. Based on the heterogeneity of HCIF, this paper reconsider the four issues of the power, competitiveness, value and entrepreneurial functions of enterprises, and conclude with a brief summary.
