Introduced in 1984, the cartoon Transformers took the world by storm with its story of the Autobots versus the Decepticons. The Transformers hit heavily with kids in the 80's when they could transform cars, planes and so on, into fighting robots. More than 20 years later, a new generation found the excitement of the legendary characters. According to the issue The Hollywood Reporter, a live action Transformers film is heading to the big screen.

The Earth is caught in the middle of a war between two races of robots, the brave Autobots and the bad Decepticons, which are able to change into a variety of objects, including cars, trucks, planes and other technological creations. Fighting with alien races, the Autobots and the Decepticons, bring their battle to Earth, leaving the future of humankind hanging in the balance. The slogan for the movie "Our planet, their war", was the first slogan for the movie Alien vs Predator, but at the last minute it was turned to "Whoever wins, we lose." It was said that this movie would be Dreamworks single biggest event they have done globally.
地球在银河系两派机器人的争斗中被侵入，这两个帮派分别是勇敢的汽车人与邪恶的霸天虎，他们可以变成各种汽车、卡车或其它科技产物，汽车人同霸天虎把异族间的对抗带到了地球，人类的命运自此危在旦夕。影片的口号“在我们的星球，进行着他们的战争。”最初是电影《异形大战之铁血战士》的口号，但是在最后一刻它被换成了“无论谁赢得战争，我们终将失去一切”。据称，此片将是梦工厂迄今为止在全球范围内最大的制作。
