The financial crisis in 2007 led to the restructuring of the global economy, which affected the world’s major economies and industries to varying degrees, which in turn affected the functions of the city’s command and control center. Based on Forbes’ “Global 2000” database, this article examines the evolution of the command and control center cities around the globe and China during 2006-2014. The study found that the functions of command and control centers in major developed countries have declined, while that of China has risen significantly. Beijing is China’s first city in command and control. The rapid growth of the financial industry is an important factor in promoting the functions of its command and control center. According to the industry attributes of multinational corporations, China’s command and control center cities are divided into three categories, and the functions of command and control centers in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai are comparatively analyzed.
