2006年1月17日,适逢台湾明基电通集团收购德国西门子手机业务100天。这一天,由合并而生的新运营实体BenQMobile宣称顺利渡过了整合的第一阶段,并推出了首款BenQ-Siemens联合品牌手机。跟并购IBMPC部门后的新联想一样,BenQMobile肩负着华人企业整合全球强势品牌,东方文化对接西方文化的重大使命。这是一次前所未有的艰难探险。1月18日,明基电通董事长李焜耀接受了《中国企业家》专访,就机构与文化整合上的切身体验、运营策略和产业比较做了细致解读。
January 17, 2006, coincides with the acquisition of BenQ, Taiwan BenQ, Germany’s cell phone business 100 days. On that day, BenQ Mobile, the new operating entity that resulted from the merger, claimed to have smoothly passed the first phase of consolidation and introduced the first BenQ-Siemens co-branded mobile phone. Like the new Lenovo after acquiring the IBMPC unit, BenQMobile is shouldering a major mission of Chinese companies to integrate global brands and oriental culture to connect with Western culture. This is an unprecedented hard adventure. On January 18, Benjamin Lee, Chairman of BenQ, accepted an interview with “Chinese Entrepreneurs” and gave a detailed explanation on the personal experiences, operational strategies and industries in terms of institutional and cultural integration.
