William Shakespeare, the greatest English writer, whose book “Hamlet” is considered its highest artistic achievement, recounts the story of the 12th-century Prince Hamlet. Hamlet is a typical revenge story, he reported revenge to his father, but repeatedly failed to start, repeated hesitation, and this is exactly Shakespeare’s idea of Hamlet’s most crucial and unique place. The author believes that the factors leading to Hamlet’s procrastination can be summed up as two points: the piousness of Christian doctrine; the lack of psychology of the characters themselves. This article will focus on the analysis of the lack of psychological absence of the protagonist through the monologue of Hamlet in the play.
