为比较压宁定和硝酸甘油对颈部手术的降压作用，将６５例颈部手术病例随机分成３组： Ａ组用任宁定 ０．５ｍｇ／ｋｇ单次静脉推注； Ｂ组经静脉微泵给硝酸甘油 ０．４ｕｇ／ｋｇ／ｍｉｎ； Ｃ组首先静注压宁定０．２ｍｇ／ｋｇ，５分钟后给硝酸甘油０．２ｕｇ／ｋｇ／ｍｉｎ微泵维持。结果显示，各组血压显著下降，但Ｂ组心率明显加快。说明压宁定是理想颈部手术降压药物，尤其和小剂量硝酸甘油合用既可减少两者用量，又可克服硝酸甘油反射性增加心率的作用。
