英语的不定式句(the infinitive sentence)在传统语法中没有作为一个独立的语法范畴,不过在语言实践中,这种句型却大量出现,现在似已成为固定的句型。这种句型大都由省略句演变而来,省略了什么成分却很难明确。本文拟将不定式句作为简单句的一种句型来讨论。从结构上看,不定式句通常没有主语,但有时也可以有主语。从意义上来分析,不定式句可以表示“感叹”、“愿望”、“惊讶”、“疑问”、“叙述”等等。
The infinitive sentence in English does not serve as an independent grammatical category in traditional grammar, but in language practice it appears in large numbers and now seems to have become a fixed sentence pattern. This sentence mostly evolved from the omission sentence, omitting what is difficult to be clear. This article intends to infinitive sentence as a simple sentence to discuss a sentence pattern. Structurally, infinitive sentences usually do not have a subject, but sometimes they can have a subject as well. From the sense of meaning analysis, infinitive sentences can mean “sigh ”, “wish ”, “surprise ”, “doubt ”, “narration ” and so on.
