中央人民政府委员会第七次会议,通过了中华人民共和国婚姻法。这是我国新民主主义革命时期的一项重要的立法。从此,旧中国所遗留的封建主义的婚姻制度将澈底被废除,而新民主主义的婚姻制度将普遍实行于全国。这是一项伟大的社会改革工作,它在全国范围内开展起来,必将获得广大男女人民,特别是妇女羣众的热烈拥护,使中国人民的社会生活前进与提高一步。这个婚姻法制定的基本原则,是要澈底摧毁中国长期封建制度在婚姻关系上所加于人民的枷锁。它的立法精神是要推翻以男子为中心的「夫权」支配,保护妇女和子女的正当利益。这个婚姻法,是中国广大劳动人民长期反封建斗争,特别是五四运动以 The Seventh Session of the Central People’s Government Commission passed the Marriage Law of the People’s Republic of China. This is an important piece of legislation in the period of our country’s new-democratic revolution.
