Power Active Power Filter (APF), which uses modern power electronic technology, digital signal processing technology and advanced control theory, can compensate power grid harmonic dynamically in real time. It is the most effective and potential solution to harmonic pollution and power quality improvement way. The basic structure and principle of APF are introduced, and various harmonic current detection and compensation current control methods of APF are discussed.
