断裂力学是在生产实践中产生和发展的,是最近才发展起来的一门新兴学科。它应用力学成就,研究含缺陷材料和结构的破坏问题。由于它和材料或结构的可靠性直接有关,因此尽管它出现的时间很短,但实践和理论均有迅速的发展,并已开始为生产服务。断裂力学就是从材料或构件中存在宏观裂纹这一点出发,应用弹性力学和弹塑性力学理论,研究材料或构件中裂纹产生和扩展的条件及规律的学科。
Fracture mechanics is produced and developed in the practice of production. It is a newly emerging discipline which has been developed recently. It applies mechanical achievements to investigate the problem of failure of materials and structures containing defects. Because of its direct relevance to the reliability of the material or structure, despite its brief appearance, practice and theory have rapidly developed and have begun to serve production. Fracture mechanics is from macroscopic cracks in materials or components point of this point, the application of elastic mechanics and elasto-plastic theory of mechanics, materials or components in the crack growth and expansion of the conditions and disciplines.
