隐喻作为极普遍的语言现象,不仅仅是是一种修辞手段,更是一种思维方式和认知工具。隐喻式词汇教学擅长于词汇的语义扩展,克服了以往词汇学习的不彻底性,强调了词汇习得过程中的心理活动和认知过程,对外语词汇教学的进行了有益的补充。本文简要介绍了隐喻理论及其发展,通过大量实例从基本词汇教学、挖掘词语多义和英汉词汇的隐喻文化差异三个方面,探析隐喻在英文词汇教学中的积极作用。
Metaphor as a very common language phenomenon, not just a rhetorical device, but also a way of thinking and cognitive tools. Metaphorical vocabulary teaching is good at semantic expansion of vocabulary, overcoming the incompleteness of vocabulary learning in the past, emphasizing the psychological activities and cognitive processes in vocabulary acquisition, and is a useful supplement to foreign language vocabulary teaching. This article briefly introduces the theory and its development of metaphor, and probes into the positive role of metaphor in English vocabulary teaching from three aspects: basic vocabulary teaching, mining polysemy of words and metaphorical cultural differences between English and Chinese.
