Quartz Crystal Microbalance (Quartz Crystal Microbalance, referred to as QCM) is a very sensitive mass sensor, its detection capacity up to ng level. The early application of QCM in chemistry is to detect the components of the emblem in the atmosphere and is still relatively active. Due to the large energy loss at the crystal / solution interface after the quartz piezoelectric crystal is immersed in the solution, it can not oscillate stably, which makes the application of QCM limited to the gas phase for a long time. The successful oscillations of quartz piezoelectric crystals in the liquid phase in the early 1980s opened up a whole new area of QCM applications. After the oscillation in the liquid phase is successful, QCM is rapidly applied to electrochemical studies. Has now developed into a new electrochemical sensor - electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM), and has been used for metal electrodeposition, electrochemical corrosion, electrical analysis and other aspects of the study.
