在华夏大地上,自有人类的活动,就开始萌生吉祥的遐想,远古先民在岩石上刻画太阳、鱼、牲畜纹,到农耕社会又增添了图腾标记、花木瓜果。随着时间的推移、社会的变迁、观念的更新,吉祥纹更为丰富多彩,蕴涵了思想文化各个方面,有太极四灵、花木禽兽、神仙佛道,渊博纵广。铜镜纹饰中留下了较为广泛的记录,不少吉祥纹图案,既是大自然的缩影,又是人们思想文化的升华结晶。
