Objective To investigate the changes of lipid metabolism in MODY pedigrees of Uygur under different glucose metabolism status. Methods A total of 44 members of 2 MODY pedigrees were collected from four generations of Uygur nationality in Kashgar region of Xinjiang. The general data of family members and their blood glucose and blood lipids were measured. According to the 1999 WHO diagnostic criteria for diabetes, all the family members were divided into two groups: normal blood glucose group, including normal fasting glucose group and normal OGTT group. Hyperglycemia group, including impaired fasting glucose (IFG) group, impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) group and diabetes group. The changes of blood glucose and blood lipid in the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results Compared with hyperglycemia group, normal blood glucose group had significantly lower age (P <0.01); fasting blood glucose and postprandial 2-hour blood glucose in normal blood glucose group were significantly lower than those in hyperglycemia group (P <0.01); LDL- Group (P <0.05). Hyperglycemia group TC, TG, HDL-C than normal blood glucose group, but no significant difference (P> 0.05). There was no significant difference in blood glucose and blood lipids between the normal blood glucose group and the hyperglycemia group (P> 0.05). The systolic blood pressure was positively correlated with TC (r = 0.482, P <0.05) and positively correlated with LDL-C (r = 0.486, LDL-C was positively correlated (r = 0.464, P <0.05). No significant correlation between the other indicators. Conclusion The members of MODY family have dyslipidemia under normal glucose metabolism status. The systolic and diastolic blood pressure are positively correlated with TC and LDL-C.
