当柴油机内部发生故障时,外观检查很难准确地判断故障部位,因而免不了反复进行拆修,造成劳动力的很大浪费。笔者通过对故障的分析,发现冷却水箱调压阀漏水与气缸发生故障有一定关系,从而把调压阀漏水现象作为有关气缸产生故障的前兆,研制出检测气缸故障的一种方法。柴油机的12个气缸,不论哪一缸有燃气窜入冷却水中,都会引起调压阀漏水,因此,该方法是将柴油机冷却水总管拆下,换上专门设计制作的透明管试验装置,从而可以确切地掌握燃气流入冷却水的状态。
