印度著名的日蚀月蚀神话以佛教为媒介,从多角度多层面影响了蒙古神话故事和史诗作 品。印度日蚀月蚀神话首先通过译介在书面流传,然后以口耳相传的方式在民间传播,最终影响了蒙古活 态神话,产生了诸多变体。印度的日蚀月蚀神话的有些母题或情节又成为蒙古英雄史诗情节内容,在作品 中或成为展开故事的总线索,或在故事情节之间起到了承前启后的作用。另一方面,蒙古神话和英雄史诗 作品接受印度神话影响时并不是消极的全盘移录,而是在接受影响的同时有所改造创新,在固有的神话故 事或史诗作品的基础上创造出新的具有民族特色的文本来。
The famous lunar eclipse in India is based on Buddhism and myths of Mongolian myths and epic works from many perspectives.
