介绍了GIS的概念,阐述了它的基本组织成分,并根据GIS和交通工程近年来的发展趋势,对它在交通工程方面已有的和可能的应用方向提出自己的看法。文中提出了在交通规划中,它能较好的完成四阶段规划并运用多模式相互比较;在道路设计中它既兼顾平、纵、横三方面协调,又能对所选方案多因素综合评判;在交通管理中它强大的统计分析功能可满足管理者的要求;在ITS的发展中,它结合高新技术的发展,成为ITS的基础和核心内容之一。
This paper introduces the concept of GIS, expounds its basic organization components, and puts forward its own views on the existing and possible application directions of traffic engineering according to the development trend of GIS and traffic engineering in recent years. In the paper, it puts forward that in the traffic planning, it can accomplish the four-phase planning well and use the multi-patterns to compare with each other. In the road design, it not only balances the three aspects of leveling, vertical and horizontal coordination, but also can comprehensively evaluate the multi-factors In traffic management, its powerful statistical analysis function can meet the requirements of managers. In the development of ITS, combining with the development of new and high technologies, it becomes one of the basic and core contents of ITS.
