Since the French Prime Minister's visit to China on April 21, TF1 has always had reports about China, which not only made me feel cordial but also very proud. As you can see from the TV, Beijing has a great wind and the red carpet to greet the French guests has been opened. China, both in terms of population and geography, is a perfectly justified “power.” But in fact, foreigners, at least the vast majority of French people, have very little understanding of this great nation. To my deep appreciation, once my Swedish teacher asked some of our capitals in Swedish in class, and despite my poor geographical knowledge, I could still answer the slightly larger capital of the country. But when the teacher asked China, no one in the class was able to answer “Beijing” immediately, and even more exasperating was a dozen seconds of silence. A girl replied excitedly, “Hong Kong!” End, really dumbfounding.
