到达延安的丁玲,在其短篇小说《夜》中,表面上好像是完成了从上海有资产阶级倾向的左翼作家到延安无产阶级作家的断裂转变,实际上是保持了“五四”对国民性的批判,特别是和1930年代的左翼社会分析批判有着更深的延续联系。这体现在对传统乡土社会更细致的观察和想象,即在面临变革的时代所催发的人的性格和思想转变的原因和动力,不能仅仅从新的政策的贯彻上来理解,更应该从更长的历史脉络和更深层的文化继承和变迁中去把握。
