An instant Mr. Grace Luo Zhewen has left us a year’s time, but the old man’s voice and smile and his carelessness often emerge in my mind, timeless. The initial acquaintance with Lo was in the early 1990s when I worked for the ancient building department jointly established by the China Institute of Cultural Relics and Traditional Architecture Research and China Architecture North Decorative Arts. At that time, the deepest impression on Lo was the persistence and persistence of ancient architecture. This initial impression has been accompanied by my contacts with Luo Lao since, and this attachment and perseverance has deeply impressed me since then, playing a crucial influence and guiding role in my future work.
