曾有一位教育家说过:“我们必须建造这样一幢建筑,它的每个细节都应当在心灵科学上和其他方面找到出处。”然而在现实的校园里,有多少孩子的心灵能够在建筑的细节上找到出处呢?学校建筑是人们为达到特定的教育目的而兴建的教育活动场所,同时它作为载体还是一个社会的教育思想与价值观念、经济与文化面貌等的具体体现者。本刊现推出“建筑”栏目,从跨学科的视角,洞悉和解读不同学校建筑空间所蕴涵的教育意蕴与文化意义,在“赋予建筑教育的深度,彰显学校文化的魅力”的使命下,为读者认识和理解学校建筑提供科学参考。栏目特邀浙江大学学校建筑文化研究中心主任邵兴江博士主持,他长期致力于学校建筑与文化等领域的研究,在学校建筑文化方面有一定的影响力与学术积累。
