江苏省武进、无锡、吴县和南通等地,近年来积极开展鱼蚌混养试验,取得良好效果。无锡市扬市公社火炬大队在9.72亩水面中养鱼、育珠。1980年产鱼11144斤,珍珠32.6斤,平均亩产鱼1146斤、珍珠3.4斤,每亩收入达4448.76元。实行鱼蚌混养的好处主要有:①提高水面利用率,一水两用,可较好地发挥水域的生产潜力。一般每亩水面可产鱼500～1000斤,珍珠2～4斤,年收入可达2000元左右。②提高鱼、珠质量。鱼吃剩下的残饵和排泄的粪便,可起到肥水和促进浮游生物繁殖
