  1. 一般过去时的用法。
  一般过去时表示过去某一时刻或一段时间所发生的动作或存在的状态。常和表示过去的时间状语连用。
  He went out just now. 他刚出去。
  Her mother was ill yesterday. 她妈妈昨天病了。
  We had a great time in those days. 那段日子我们过得很愉快。
  【特别提示】
  (1)表示过去的时间状语常见的有:
  last night昨晚
  last week/month/year上个星期/月/去年
  last Sunday上个星期天
  then那时
  at that time/moment那时
  just now刚才
  during…在……期间
  a few days ago几天以前
  after/when等引导的表示过去的时间状语从句
  (2)一般过去时可以用来表示现在的时间,这主要用于日常会话,使用的语气较为婉转客气。
  I wanted to ask if I could borrow your bike.
  我想问一下我能不能借用你的自行车。
  2. 不规则动词的变化规律。
  一般过去时态难点之一就是不规则动词的变化。乍看不规则动词表,各词变化无常,无规律可寻,同学们只得如同背生词一样,逐个记忆。但是,只要仔细观察,我们还是可以在这些不规则中找出规律,归纳如下:
  1. i变为a 2. i变为o
  begin→began drive→drove
  drink→drank shine→shone
  ring→rang rise→rose
  sing→sang write→wrote
  swim→swam win→won
  give→gave 4. o变为a
  3. o变为e come→came
  blow→blew become→became
  grow→grew 5. e变为o
  know→knew get→got
  throw→threw forget→forgot
  hold→held
  6. 去e加t,即: 7. 变d为t
  去掉一个e加上一个t bend→bent
  feel→felt lend→lent
  keep→kept send→sent
  sleep→slept spend→spent
  sweep→swept build→built
   rend→rent
  8. 词尾加t 10. 无变化
  mean→meant let→let
  learn→learnt put→put
  9. 变y为i再加d set→set
  lay→laid hit→hit
  pay→paid cut→cut
  say→said cost→cost
   shut→shut
   read→read
