在辽宁西部用田间试验的方法研究了夏季深松、秋季覆膜、翌年春季播种的保墒效果;结果表明同传统春季覆膜相比,秋季覆膜的保墒效果更好,它可以蓄保秋墒、减少冬春土壤水分蒸发,克服因春旱严重而不能适时播种的问题。到翌年春天播种时,夏季深松+秋季覆膜处理0~40cm的土壤含水量高于夏季不深松+秋季覆膜处理、夏季不深松+春季覆膜处理和夏季不深松+不覆膜的对照处理。夏季深松+秋季覆膜处理能够显著增加玉米的株高、茎粗、穗长和穗粗,产量较夏季不深松+秋季覆膜处理、夏季不深松+春季覆膜处理和对照处理分别增产43.0%、58.8%和60.6%。
