小麦穗轴内有中央维管束和周缘维管束两个相对独立的系统。中央维管束贯穿于穗轴各节片,而周缘维管束是不连续的。中央维管束和周缘维管束的数量均随穗轴节位的上升而减少,减少的速度越快,则进入相应小穗的维管束越多。穗轴中部小穗轴中的维管束分化较基部和顶部小穗轴早,其维管束的数量多,木质部的面积也大。因此,小麦穗轴内维管束的分配差异是穗器官发育不均衡的重要原因。
Within the wheat cob, there are two relatively independent systems, the central vascular bundle and the peripheral vascular bundle. The central vascular bundle runs through each segment of the cob while peripheral vascular bundles are discontinuous. The number of central vascular bundles and peripheral vascular bundles decreased with the increase of cob node, the faster the decrease, the more vascular bundles into the corresponding spikelets. The vascular bundle differentiation in the rachilla mid-rachilla was earlier than that in the basal and top rachilla, with more vascular bundles and xylem area. Therefore, the distribution of vascular bundles in wheat cob is an important reason for the uneven development of ear organs.
