OBJECTIVE To study hemostatic and healing effect of the self-producing water-soluble O-carboxymethyl chitosan hemostatic sponge.METHODS With establishing a wounding model of vein and artery shearing of the Japanese large ear rabbit,commercial absorbable-gelatin sponge was used as a positive control,medical gauze was used as a negative control.Both the hemostatic efficacies and reliability were compared between a self-producing sponge group and controls.
