Background In 2011 ACC/AHA guideline for PCI,for severely calcified lesions,the rotational atherectomy (RA) is recommended as the Ⅱa,evidence level is C.However,the available burr size is only 1.25-1.

Background In 2011 ACC/AHA guideline for PCI,for severely calcified lesions,the rotational atherectomy (RA) is recommended as the Ⅱa,evidence level is C.However,the available burr size is only 1.25-1.75 mm in China.Whats more,larger size and longer time are not recommended for its increasing of dissection.Therefore,for some severely calcified lesions,RA is only efficacy for the polishing the calcified nodule,not for the rupture of thick calcified ring.
