Several studies show that some pathologies (schizophrenia, Alzheimer disease...) are associated with re-arrangements in active connections between structures, which may result in impaired functional networks.Together with dynamic modeling, "structural equation modeling" (SEM) is one of the most suited methods to study effective connectivity. However, no validated statistical method is available to test the effects of experimental factors or pathologies on connectivity networks.
