The entity of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) has become a very interesting topic and entity for scientists and clinicians that are involved with the area of cancer.Since this entity is generated during carcinogenesis and it is essential for cancer cells to be able to invade and metastasize, they may hold all the necessary features that actually drives the progression of the disease.At the same time the definition of cancer stem cells (CSCs) or tumor initiating cells becomes recently very interesting and we manage to identify markers and features of these cells, than the idea that the two entities (CSC and CTCs) may related or overlapped.
