In order to further deepen the requirements of curriculum reform and implement the fundamental task of "establishing moral education",the Ministry of Education officially promulgated the General High School Geography Curriculum Standard(2017Edition),which illustrates the importance of developing students’ core literacy in geography.As an important component of geography core literacy,the status and role of regional cognition is becoming increasingly important.It is found that there are more studies on the development of regional cognitive skills of high school students and fewer studies on remedial teaching in geography,and there is still room for exploring practical research on remedial teaching for regional cognitive skills of high school students.Therefore,with the goal of improving students’ regional cognitive ability,the research on remedial teaching strategies and practice levels is conducted in an attempt to provide theoretical and practical references for frontline geography teachers to implement remedial teaching of regional cognitive ability.In the context of the new curriculum reform,based on constructivist theory,educational evaluation theory,mastery learning theory and cognitive structure learning theory,the concepts of regional cognitive ability and remedial teaching are sorted out using the literature research method,and the principles,basic steps and implementation methods of remedial teaching are also explained.The survey method was used to understand the current situation of regional cognitive ability of high school students and the current situation of teachers’ implementation of regional cognitive ability remedial teaching in Heilongjiang Province,and it was found that the level of regional cognitive ability of high school students in Heilongjiang Province is low,teachers have a single way and method to implement regional cognitive ability remedial teaching,and there is a lack of systematic remedial teaching practice.Based on the problems,strategies for remedial teaching of high school students’ regional cognitive skills are proposed from the perspectives of students,teachers and schools.Finally,based on the interpretation of the geography curriculum standards and the analysis of the teaching materials,a practical study of collective remedial teaching of regional cognitive ability is carried out,combining the principles,steps and strategies of remedial teaching.It is expected to provide some references for front-line geography teachers to implement remedial teaching of regional cognitive ability.
