航天飞机开创了近地轨道空间运输的新纪元。当前正在研究和评定更先进的空间运载火箭所需的技术要求。崭新的运载火箭和航天飞机衍生的运载火箭都能从先进烃类发动机得到好处,一些方案已经做过研究。本文对某些采用烃类发动机的单级入轨运载火箭进行了比较。结果表明,丙烷分级燃烧的发动机最适合用于单级入轨运载火箭。文中还介绍了采用先进的发动机材料的潜在效果。
The space shuttle opened up a new era in the transport of near-Earth orbit space. The technical requirements required for more advanced space launch vehicles are currently under study and assessment. New launch vehicles and shuttle-derived launch vehicles benefit from advanced hydrocarbon engines and some programs have been studied. In this paper, some single-stage orbiting launchers using hydrocarbon engines are compared. The results show that propane staged combustion engine is best suited for single-stage orbiting rocket. The article also describes the potential of using advanced engine materials.
