Learning English with movies is fun and helpful. I remember when I was a child， I had to watch hours and hours of really old movies like Singing in the Rain， Mary Poppins to learn English. If you don’t know these movies—you’re welcome to check1 them out—they’re really old！I didn’t really like them， so I didn’t feel excited at all when watching these movies. And because of that， here are some tips for you to learn English with movies.
看电影学英语既有趣又有益。我记得当我还是个孩子的时候，不得不看很多很老的电影学习英语，比如《雨中曲》《欢乐满人间》。如果你不知道这些电影，欢迎你去查一下，它们真的很老！我不太喜欢它们，所以看这些电影时我一点也不兴奋。因此，这里给大家几个看电影学英語的小诀窍。
Watch a movie that you like and easy to understand2.
For beginners in English， I think you can learn English through animations3. Because the English in them is usually very friendly and easy to understand.
看一部你喜欢且容易理解的电影。
对于英语初学者，我认为你可以通过动画片来学习英语。因为动画片里的英语通常很友好，并且易于理解。
Bring your dictionary.
When you hear a word you’re interested in， look it up！Because you went through the trouble4 to understand it， you’ll remember that word for a long time！
带上你的字典。
当你听到一个感兴趣的词时，马上去查！因为你费尽心机去搞懂它，就会在很长一段时间牢牢记住这个词！
Repeat5 short phrases！
Some times， you might hear something cool in the movie. For example， some short phrases like， “Hell yeah！” or “Sure thing” or “You betcha！” that are commonly used in English. If you like how it sounds， it really helps to repeat it！After saying it out loud a while，you will remember it for a longer time！It’s a great and enjoyable6 exercise—one of my favorites.
重复短语！
有时候，你可能会在电影中听到某些很棒的东西。例如“Hell yeah！”“Sure thing”或者“You betcha！”等这些短语，都是英语中常用的。如果你真的喜欢它们的发音，这会促使你跟读！大声读出来一会儿后，你会记得很久的！这是一个很有益而愉快的练习——是我最喜欢的练习之一。
Watch with and without subtitles7.
I know it can be really difficult to watch a movie in a foreign language without subtitles. So when you watch a movie the first time， just turn on subtitles. But if you get the chance8 to watch it a second time， try turning off subtitles. This way， you already know the story from the first time you watched it. And this time， you can try listening to some words that you might have checked up last time. Or you might try to see how much you can understand the movie without subtitles.
带或不带字幕看电影。
我知道看一部没有字幕的外语电影是很困难的。所以当你第一次看某部电影时，就打开字幕吧。但如果你有机会再看一遍，就试着关掉字幕。这样，你第一次看的时候就已经知道这个故事了。那这次，你可以试着听你上次查过的单词，或者试着看看没有字幕你能理解多少电影内容。
It’s okay to miss9 words.
Just let it go. Last of all， remember what we said in the start？ Watching movies should be fun. So if you miss a word， a phrase， or even many sentences， that’s okay！Just follow along the subtitles and learn that way. Don’t make yourself feel bad. Watching movies is supposed10 to be fun！
漏词也没关系。
让它去吧。最后，还记得我们一开始说的话吗？看电影应该是件有趣的事。所以如果你漏掉了一个单词、短语，甚至很多句子，也没关系！只需跟着字幕这样学下去就行了。别让自己难过，看电影就是要有趣才对！
