一、教学内容介绍
为调动学生的学习积极性,在本节示范教学中需要抛却传统教法,尝试运用多媒体等现代手段,引入图片助教激发学生兴趣,激活其背景知识和相关词块储备;引导学生运用查读、速读等阅读技巧快速寻找信息;指导学生分析数据、归纳组群、深层推断、科学表述,从而达到“四有”好课标准,并且在教学流程中力争做到胸中有纲、心中有本、目中有人、腹中有数。
二、设计理念
本课设计遵从现代英语教学倡导的两个理念
第一,“4C”目标,即交流、合作、创新、批判性思维(communication, cooperation, creation, and critical thinking)。
第二,情境教学。在课堂上,引导学生“在学中用,在用中学”,注重情境创设,使学生能够“learn to learn”。
三、学情分析
使用“激趣”“导理”等手段降低学习难度,是本节课教学设计的重点之一。
四、教学方法分析
在“读前”“读中”“读后”三个教学段中分布教学任务,在“课前”“课中”“课后”三个教学环节中完成“教学准备”“教学实施”“巩固延伸”。

1. To get the Ss prepared for the reading, check the word memory on the continents and development.
2. To make boring interesting & vivid, to get Ss involved.
Student’s Activity
Match the countries with their continents and decide each country’s present development.
2.1. Read the two pictures and try to decide and describe a developed country and a developing one by using the learned adjectives.
Part II While-reading
Teacher’s Activity
1. Title reading
2.Fast reading
Teaching Goals
1. To create an “information gap” for Ss “learn to learn”.
2. To allow Ss to practice basic reading strategies.
Student’s Activity
1. Read the title
2. Scan the passage
Part III Post-reading
Teacher’s Activity
1. Ask Ss to do questions and answers.
2. Offer some figures in the form of chart on the blackboard and ask Ss to tell what fact a figure refers to.
3. Guide Ss to tell what the data tells.
4. Further Understanding
Teaching Goals
1. To lead Ss to express their ideas.
2. To help Ss to see the depth behind the specific information collected and the degree of the present human development.
3. To raise Ss’ awareness of social responsibility.
Student’s Activity
1. Answer the questions
2. Match the figures with a fact and sort the them into four groups.
3. Try to induct the figures.
4. Discuss and report.
Homework
1. Pick out the sentences with the following words and taste their meanings:
hunger, income, poverty, educate, index, measure, goal, make progress, make efforts.
2. Finish Activity 3&5 on P13
3. Read passage 2 in the Supplementary Reading.
Finish the homework.
To reach consolidation and further understanding of the passage.

① 列出数据、归纳组群(4组)。
② 查读,思考各组数据所在段落的主题句。
③ 分析文体,推断作者使用数据的意图。
经过三步引导,最终学生掌握了处理说明文中数据的基本方法。

5.精准的学习目标要求
然而,教学是一项遗憾的艺术,在教学过程中发现对于学生的认知水平预估过高,因而教学环节设计稍显冗杂,导致讨论环节时间紧张,讨论结果粗放,若能准确预估学生的认知水平,在此基础上简化教学环节,减少教学步骤,会收到更好的教学效果。
