Africa, in fact, not far away from us. In the 1960s, when China was blocked by the two big groups of the United States and the Soviet Union, Africa became China’s diplomatic outpost on a time when there were few allied nations in the world. Successfully building the Tanzania-Zambia Railway in the 1970s was even more an immortalization of the traditional friendship between the Chinese and African peoples monument. As Mao Tse-tung said, “African black brothers carried us into the United Nations.” The 21st century’s Sino-African relations have taken on a new color. China’s role in Africa has changed from friend to revolutionary exporter to friend, trader and investor, and a series of new situations and problems have emerged in China-Africa relations.
