On May 8， 2014， SDX and Random conduct a discussion about the subsequent publication of “Penguin Lives” book series.
Previously， SDX had many experiences of cooperating with international well-known publishers such as the Harvard University Press and the Cambridge University Press， but most of the cases were about rights dealings of single academic books. For this time， SDX hopes to expand their scale in cooperation on serial projects. So for the “Penguin Lives” book series， SDX considers it provides them with a good opportunity.
Both parties expressed their confidence on the prospects of cooperation. SDX will participate more in the editing， planning and topic selection. The editorial team had an increase of interaction in activities like content proofreading and binding design. The four books published- Buddha， Proust， Joyce， Jane Austen had won a high recognition in both quality and price， and their attractions were beyond doubt. Especially the book Buddha written by Ms Karen Armstrong， a prominent religious scholar， originally being a supper bestseller with more than 3 million global sales， now has been the top ten on the sales ranking list of SDX， as well as at the Dangdang and Amazon online stores.
