Some of the findings from long-term subsidence and roadway protection pillars are presented - long-term subsidence achieved in long -wall face areas. Although long-term subsidence is unintentional for most longwall workings, in some cases its role exists. The resulting study can be represented by a power-law attenuation function. The stability coefficient and the potential long-term subsidence of coal pillar system are the two most important factors in controlling the magnitude and the characteristics of long-term subsidence process.
