缩釉与爆釉是瓷器研究的一个小课题, 仔细研究,我们发现缩釉和爆釉与原材料的应用和生产工艺有直接关系,把握它们之间的关系对瓷器的鉴定有一定的帮助。缩釉的形成曾经有两种解释:一种说法是因胎体上粘了油污,所施釉面无法覆盖胎体而引起缩釉。另一说法是烧窑时冷却过快而引起缩釉。笔者认为,以上两种说法均有误。前者, 瓷器的烧制温度为1200℃以上,而油污在 500℃已蒸发,此时釉科尚无熔融,无法引起缩釉,此说难以成立。后者,窑内瓷器的冷却是胎釉同时冷却,冷却快大多是产生釉裂或胎釉同时爆裂。热胀冷缩是一较普遍的物理现象,冷却能缩釉,但它是整体冷缩不是引起缩釉点的主要原因。
