一、 教材分析
本课选自人教版新目标英语八年级上册第十单元的第一课时。本课围绕“Life goals”展开,通过复习一些已知的职业名词来学习一些新的职业名词,并使学生学会使用be going to句型谈论长大以后打算做什么工作以及打算怎样实现目标。通过对人生理想的讨论,使青少年学生不仅对未来有美好憧憬,而且要从现在做起为实现人生理想而努力。
二、 教学目标
1. 知识目标
(1) 掌握本课重点词汇: computer programmer, basketball player, pilot, engineer, actor等。
(2) 掌握本课重要句型:
What are you going to be when you grow up?
I??m going to be an engineer.
How are you going to do that?
I??m going to study hard.
(3) 语法:用be going to表示一般将来时。
2. 能力目标
培养学生用英语谈论将来计划,提高学生听、说、读、写等能力。
3. 情感目标
通过让学生谈论他们将来打算做什么以及准备怎样实现这一目标,培养学生学习英语的浓厚兴趣,乐于参加各种活动的积极情感以及为实现理想而努力拼搏的精神。
三、 教学重点和难点
重点:掌握本节课的职业名词及重点句型。
难点:一般将来时be going to后面接动词原形的用法。
四、 教法分析
结合教材及学情、遵循教学原则和认知规律,我采用了情景教学法、听说法,讨论法,结合郑州市争创全国文明城市这一时事,采用任务型教学法,在活动中导入目标语言,通过交流及操练,让学生在用中学、在学中用。
五、 教学步骤
Step 1: Lead?in
1. Let students enjoy a video clip.
2. Ask students some questions:
① What??s the video mainly about?
② What future jobs are mentioned in the video?
(设计说明:通过观看一段谈论未来职业的有趣的动画视频导入新课,极大地调动了学生的学习热情。另外,通过对该视频的讨论,复习以前学过的一些职业名词,并使学生初步感知be going to结构。)
Step 2: Present the new words
computer programmer, basketball player, pilot, engineer, actor
1. Show students some pictures about jobs and learn the new words.
2. Let students read the new words after the teacher and then try to memorize them.
(设计说明:通过PPT展示一些做家务的图片,带领学生学习一些新的职业名词,通过教师领读以纠正学生一些不正确的发音,然后让学生自己朗读以强化记忆。)
Step 3: Use some cards to check the new words
(设计说明:课前准备一些职业生词卡片,在课堂上检测学生的生词读拼情况。)
Step 4: Make a career noun card in one minute
Situation: I have a foreign friend named Jim. He wants to find a job in Zhengzhou but he doesn??t know what jobs there are in Zhengzhou. So he asks me for a career noun card but I have no time to make it. Would you like to make it for him?
Students work in groups, each group makes a career name card.
(设计说明:通过创设情境,让学生在课堂上亲自动手制作职业名词卡片,这样既激发了学生的学习兴趣,又从写的方面检测了学生对职业名词的掌握情况。)
Step 5:讲故事引入语法结构“be going to + 动词原形”
Story: My friend Jim is a good driver but he has a nickname “Mr. Going to do” Do you know why? Because he always says, “I??m going to do it.”, but he never does it.
Show students some dirty things in the room “Mr. Going to do”. Let them have a guess what he will say.
(设计说明:首先通过讲述“Mr. Going to do”的故事引入语法结构“be going to + 动词原形”,再通过PPT展示一些“Mr. Going to do”脏乱的物品图片,让学生猜测他会怎么回答,从而引导学生学习使用句型I??m going to do ... 来表达将来的打算。)
Step 6: Pairwork 1. 以PPT形式向学生展示我女儿的理想职业以及她为实现自己的理想是如何做的。
2. 师问生答:
T: What are you going to be when you grow up?
S: I??m going to be ...
T: How are you going to do that?
S: I??m going to ...
3. 生生互动谈论他们梦想中的职业。
(设计说明:首先通过PPT展示我女儿的理想职业,既引入语言结构be going to be ..., 又激发学生谈论自己未来职业的兴趣。其次通过师生互动示范练习目标语言。最后通过生生互动操练目标语言。)
Step 7: Listening and oral practice
1. Listen to 2a and 2b.
2. Let students show their answers in a short dialogue.
(设计说明:通过2a,2b的听力及对话练习,从听说方面进一步巩固练习目标语言。)
Step 8: Make a poster
Let the students work in groups and try to make a poster for creating National Civilized City in Zhengzhou. Then write down what they are going to do for it.
(设计说明:当时郑州正为争创全国文明城市而积极准备,根据这一时事,让同学们展开讨论,并动手为争创全国文明城市制作一张海报,宣传“我”能为郑州争优创先做什么。该活动既激发了学生的兴趣,又从听、说和写多方面锻炼了学生对目标语言的实际运用能力。)
Step 9: Moral education
Enjoy the poem “dream” of Langston Hughes.
(设计说明:伴随着轻柔的钢琴曲和学生一起分享“梦想”这首诗,激励学生为实现自己的梦想而努力拼搏,从而升华了本课主题。)
Step 10: Homework
以“My dream job”为题写一篇短文。要求写清楚自己的人生理想,以及为实现理想要付出哪些努力。
(设计说明:通过写短文,使学生从写作方面再次巩固并强化本课所要掌握的目标语言。)
