On January 21, 2014 New York time, China (New York) Textile and Apparel Sourcing Fair, Texworld USA, and the International Apparel Sourcing Show was opened in Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The exhibition was hosted by China National Textile And Apparel Council(CNTAC), and co-organized by the Subcouncil of Textile Industry of CCPIT(CCPITTEX) and Messe Frankfurt GmbH USA. Management levels of the organizing committee visited the fair and all expressed their satisfaction with the quality of exhibitors, and expressed the expectation for the fair to be a tie between the global textile supply chain and the US market.
The total space of the exhibitions this year was 8,000 square meters, with 246 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions in the world, with Chinese exhibition group as the biggest, which was formed by 117 exhibitors.
To the surprise of the organizing committee and the exhibitors, although the city was covered in the snow, crowds of local trade visitors came and visited. An exhibitor which targeted at the European and US market said that the principal aim of exhibiting this time was looking for middle and high end clients. General Manager of the company said that seeing the stormy weather, he was a little bit worried about the exhibition effect, but to his surprise, on the first day of the exhibition, there came quality clients from the US and Europe as well, and most of them being brand sales company.
As the demand for China textile and apparel products increases in the US market, the China trade fair received extensive positive feedback from producers in the industry from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Shandong, Shanghai, Fujian, Hebei and Hubei province. The total exhibition space was 1,317 square meters, increasing by 13% than previous year. More than half of the exhibitors participated for second time in two succeeding year. According to statistics,women apparel and knitting clothes were the most popular. In addition, due to limited exhibition space, there occurred again the situation where companies needed to queue, which revealed that the exhibitors recognition for the trade fair, and also the optimistic outlook of Chinese textile industry for the US market in 2014.
A survey by the organizing committee showed that trade visitors invitation received good result, and pre-registered visitors increased by 30% than spring fair 2013. Mr. Lin Yunfeng, Vice President of CCPITTEX, said, “At this exhibition, we apply the Tradegood online shopping community to help exhibitors locate the right partners more quickly. In addition, we invited local senior professionals to the venue to provide consulting service for Chinese exhibitors so as to maximize the displaying effect.”
