WTO not only brings tremendous development opportunities for China’s financial industry, but also brings with it many unavoidable challenges. In the face of the current situation of the financial system and the future development path, it is imperative to strengthen supervision. At the Central Financial Work Conference held in February 2002, strengthening supervision became a key issue. To prevent financial risks and promote the healthy development of the financial industry, the media is duty-bound. In January 2002, the State Council Development Research Center published a series of “Financial Reform and Financial Security” reports, which should attach great importance to the role of mass media in financial regulation. The report listed the positive and negative effects of media in financial regulation , Stressing that the mass media can not only influence the formulation of policies by the financial regulatory authorities but also can not provide regulatory oversight beyond the financial regulatory authorities. Under the new situation, how the media should strengthen self-discipline and avoid weaknesses to further meet the needs of the audience and contribute to the stable and healthy development of the financial industry are the focuses of this special issue.
